Beauty in the Eye of the Beholder

The first sight was enough
Long, dishevelled hair
Facial stubble, rough,
with a cross eyed stare.

Coat hanging ripped and torn
Off shoulders hunched
shoes and trousers holed and worn
looking down at hands all bunched.

His breath foul and rasping
He shuffles forward, bent in pose
But in his hand he is clasping
The flower of the perfect rose

Interesting contrast. Just like the idea of opposites attracting - that one so ragged and homely would hold and treasure the beauty in his hands.

Nice work
