Grow up

Grow up the man advised me
Grow up to save your soul
I listened to him most carefully
I listened and recognized my goal.

The path to tread was arduous
The path was steep and long
I vowed not to make an awful fuss
I vowed to find the song.

So off I set the next morning
So off with girded loin
My goal was set and calling
My goal I will purloin.

I climbed the tallest mountain
I climbed the smallest hill
I drank from life’s rich fountain
I drank and I’m drinking still.

I came wearily upon a golden gate
I came disheartened to a lock of steel
Hoping that I was really not too late
Hoping that a key under a stone I’d feel.

Yea behold I pulled a tiny key
Yea behold from the gargantuan rock
The song of life it found me
The song helped unseal the lock.

So now I walk life’s wondrous path
So now I’ve paid my worldly fee
I can look at life’s foibles and laugh
I can sing the songs bestowed on me.

I like the underlying rhythm on this one. Interesting what you did with the repetition of the first two words on the lines. That must've taken some careful thought!

Good job Simon :highfive:
