In their shoes

I’d love to run and kick up leaves
to climb a tree, high off the ground.
I’d love to skip and jump about
but at seven years old,
I’m wheelchair bound.

I’d love to see the flowing water
as it tumbles over rock and bolder
and see it over the water fall
but my eyes grow weaker
as I grow older.

I’d love to feel another’s love
to press my body close to theirs
and catch my breath amid the passion
but my stammer lets me down
when I speak I feel the stares.

I am grateful of my blessing
and happy when I feel the blues
I’ll let you all in to my little secret
I have lived and worked and played
confidently in their shoes.

So sad and so beautiful...

you spelled "boulder" wrong. You said, "over rock and bolder". Two different spellings there, my friends. :) (not to sound nit-picky, of course. :))
